Checking Guests In
A well rounded check in process will inform, register, and track all guests for the day. The check in process allows for guest contact by the golf shop staff making the information gathering process easier. Every guest needs to check in at the golf shop to ensure that no one is going out onto the course without paying or at the wrong fee type.
Checking In
Inquiring stage:
- Greet the guest with the Elite Golf Welcome Greeting and inquire about their reservation. Once the tee time has been identified, inquire about the other players names for that reservation and input them onto the reservation.
- As customers arrive at the facility, every customer will be greeted with the same greeting to keep consistency among Elite Golf facilities, this is known as the Elite Golf Welcome Greeting.
- The Elite Golf Welcome Greeting is “Welcome to facility name.”
- Confirm the appropriate fee type has been issued to the reservation by asking the guest questions. If the guest is a resident, ask to verify a driver’s license. If the guest is a PGA professional, ask to verify a PGA identification card. Use the appropriate questions to inquire about the guest, but do so in a friendly and courteous manner.
- All information obtained about the reservation should be recorded on the reservation whether in the notes or other sections of the tee sheet program.
Gathering stage:
- Obtain the appropriate payment whether it be cash, credit card, gift certificate, room charge if applicable, etc. so that the guest can be checked in and showed as paid on the tee sheet.
- After gathering payment, verify that the guest does appear checked in and paid for on the tee sheet.
Informing stage:
- Inform the guest where to proceed once checked in. Give the guest directions to the driving range, first tee, or other facilities as needed by the guest. Make sure the guest knows to keep their receipt for the starter on the first tee.
- Inform the player’s service staff or starters about the player’s registration so that everyone is on the same page for that reservation.
