Teaching Practices
An Elite Golf instructor is one that is knowledgeable about the game, the swing, and has a passion for the game of golf. To be eligible for teaching at an Elite Golf facility certain criteria must be met to assure that proper ideas are being conveyed to our guests. Elite Golf executive management reserves the right to change the teaching requirements at any time.
Eligibility Requirements
- Passed the Player’s Ability Test conducted by the PGA of America.
- Enrolled in at least Level 1 of the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management Program.
- Cleared by course management and or Elite Golf executive management.
- Executive management may grant teaching privileges to someone not meeting the above requirements if the individual has experience gained in other forms of golf teaching practices.
Lessons and Clinics
A good teaching program can add more value to the facility and bring more guests to the Elite Golf family. Elite Golf encourages eligible instructors to teach and create their own personal customer base. Lessons and clinics need to be taught during slower times of the day. Instructors must be clocked in to teach, but must not be in overtime while doing so. Any teaching program or clinic program must be approved by the director of golf or head golf professional.
Lesson/Clinic Billing
Elite Golf wants employees to utilize teaching as a way to supplement their income. Teaching allows the professional staff a way to make more money, but more importantly practice their craft. Facilities may differ in lesson price due to the region they are located. Elite Golf’s executive management will work with the head golf professional to determine rates for each facility. All lesson transactions, cash, credit card, etc. need to be rung up through the register to track employee time and revenue.
