It is important to end the day properly to prepare for the next day of business. A strong closing will help prepare the business and fellow employees for a new day. The doors and operation will close at the set hours of operation and when all daily/closing procedures have been accomplished.
Pre Closing
- Merchandise displays need to be checked. Fold, hang, and fill displays throughout the shop.
- The back counter and surrounding areas should be clean and clear of excess materials.
- Verify that all groups/events and all players on the tee sheet have been properly checked in.
- Print off tee sheets for the following day: 1 for the golf shop, 1 for player’s services, and 1 for the starters.
Closing The Golf Shop
- Count out the cash drawers and close down the POS register.
- Place all paperwork and cash in a cash deposit envelope and turn in to accounting.
- Verify that all of the cash banks from all departments are correct, sign off on the sign out sheet, and store them in the safe.
- Retrieve all group/event information to be put out the next morning and leave on the counter.
- Retrieve all daily event information such as broker paperwork, bill back paperwork, and group/event billing for the next day and leave on the counter.
- Make sure the golf shop is clean and ready for the following day.
Closing For Business
- Walk through the facility to check for trash and debris that can be taken care of before the next business day.
- Check the bathrooms for supplies and cleanliness.
- After all guests and employees have exited the facility, lock the exterior doors, the golf shop doors and turn off all of the lights to the facility.
- Make sure to turn on the alarm before exiting the club house. (if applicable)
- Check the front entrance and parking lot for trash, debris, and anything that sends the wrong message to our guests.
- Make sure there are no more guests, employees, or cars in the parking lot before exiting the facility.
- Close and lock the gate when leaving the facility. (if applicable)
