Always Be Selling
Guest sales can be a strong revenue source at an Elite Golf facility. Staff members should always be in the mind set of selling merchandise, food and beverage, services as well as tee times to our guests. A simple reference to any product or service could lead to a future revenue source.
The Golf Shop Floor
- When guests are on the shop floor, engage the guest to inquire how they can be helped. Inform the guest about new merchandise or specials being offered. A little sales pitch here and there can generate more sales during the day.
- If the guest is interested in a product, inform the guest about the product. Let the guest know about any special features or points that will help educate the guest about the product.
The Counter
- The counter is a great time to up-sell a guest on a souvenir item such as ball markers, divot tools, golf balls, hats, and other small niche items. Be sure to mention any specials or promotions being run as well.
Around The Facility
- Selling can take place in any part of the facility. Take time to greet the guest and mention a special that is taking place whether it is in the bar for food and drink specials or in the golf shop for merchandise specials or specials on rates. A little assistance from every employee can help generate a sale and help keep guests informed about events around the facility.
Education
- Take the time to learn about products and services offered in the golf shop and around the facility. The more education about a product or service a staff member has, the more information they can relay to the guest. Check with a supervisor or manager for education material on any products or services offered at the facility.
